SPRINGFIELD — Lincoln Land Community College students, faculty, staff and alumni participated in the Lincoln Land Cardboard Boat Regatta on Sept. 22.
Ten teams competed in a race across Lake Macoupin on the campus in Springfield. The event, sponsored by the ÌÀÍ·Ìõapp Police Department, raised $240 for charity.
A team from the ÌÀÍ·Ìõapp Library with the boat, RV Swan Linc, won the race as well as fastest boat and best decorations awards. Awards were given to the top three finishers, and other honors included school spirit, best engineered and Titanic.
Frederick Van provided music during the event, Kona Ice served snow cones and ÌÀÍ·ÌõappPD grilled hamburgers and hot dogs.
